The method of making taro pudding is pretty much the same as making a jelly. Add hot water to the pudding mix, mix together, cool and refridgerate until set
This pudding has almost as much fibre per 100g as sultanas! :|
Ingredient panel...those colours look scary
With me being paranoid about what artificial, lab made items I may eat, I researched these colours.. UK Food Guide told me me Allura Red AC is banned in Denmark, Sweden, France, Belgium and Switzerland and is not recommended for consumption by children. Great. Why is it not banned everywhere? Oh and it gets worse. Brilliant Blue FCF is banned in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland!
Having read that information I was not excited about my taro puddings anymore. They were all ready to eat, sitting in the fridge too! For the blog and for medical experimentation, I tried a spoonfull. Woah.
It was good! Very good! Just like bubble tea but in solid form. But, for me, too scary to eat any more than one spoonful. The puddings went into the bin:( Byebye little taro puddings.
That was a disappointing, scary pudding experience. Why can this product not be made with more friendly colours? I really wanted to eat it. I think it is horrible that these artificial colours are banned in some countries and not others. Are people in one country more subsceptible to diseases from artificial colours than people in other countries? Though, then you could go on to say that smoking is much more dangerous than artificial colours and is not banned. Then again, the government raises revenue from smoking, so there is a bit of a hidden agenda there.
I am a hidden agenda type of girl. I think hidden agendas are everywhere. I don't even listen to doctors because I am so sceptical of them. When they say I need vaccinations - I say no. When they say I should consume grains - I say no. They say the brown round mark on my back will not turn into cancer - I don't believe them. Instead, I rebell and for example, eat a fatty buttery fry up each morning which is supposedly going to make me really fat, give me high cholesterol and kill me. However, I am still underweight, fitter than others and oh yeah, alive.
Sceptical Kim. That's my name. Sceptiscism is the game.
I still want taro pudding!!!!!
