Grain free birthday treats
I am now just short of being a quarter of a century old. Yes, I turned 24 last month (I was going to blog about this last month as well, but yeah....) There is no better excuse for preparing excessive amounts of treats for your colleagues than a birthday. Someone at work did however mention that I should not bring in treats on my birthday. I suppose that is why the firm provided (yes, past tense; I resigned and reallocated Sydney) us with birthday cakes on the 15th of each month.

Ginza, Unley, SA
In my second last week at work, my colleague Miss M organised a lunch at the local Thai restaurant for the two of us. Unfortunately, I experienced a bout of gastro/food poisoning/weird strange horrible sickness and was forced to take two and a half days of sick leave. Upon my return to work, I could not face food and was surviving on jelly, canned peaches and yoghurt. Therefore we did not do Thai. Instead, in my last week of work when I was able to appreciate and eat food again, we visited the local Japanese restaurant. I am glad things turned out this way:) The Japanese restaurant that is, not the being sick part.

Eat Drink Blog 3 - Part 3 - Dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Adelaide
On November 3rd and 4th 2012, I had the pleasure of attending the third Australian food blogging conference, Eat Drink Blog, which was held in my hometown of Adelaide. I was one of 80 lucky Australian food bloggers who were selected to attend the fun and food filled conference. Our third event of the day was a South American fiesta themed dinner at the Hilton Hotel, smack bang in the middle of Adelaide.

Frozen peach yoghurt
The weather warmed up and then it cooled down. Whilst rugged up inside my house I read an article on Australia's best gelato. This prompted me to make a healthier version; frozen yoghurt. Yes, I knew it would give me goosebumps as I consumed it, but I made it anyway.

Courgette, Canberra, ACT
On the October long weekend I visited Canberra for food and wine adventure. After a big day of wine tasting on the Saturday we headed back to Canberra for tea. This was at Courgette, which has received a one hat status from the Sydney Morning Herald for the past three years. The restaurant is classy and elegant. Tables matched with soft linen chairs and ambient lighting creates an overall pleasant environment in which to enjoy a four course meal.

Jah'z Lounge, Adelaide
I have a confession to make. I have a restaurant problem. An addiction. I frequent Jah'z Lounge (just off Rundle Street past the Exeter Hotel), far too much. In just over a week, I visited the restaurant four times! You know how Dr Karl is 'besties' with Lady Gaga? Well, I think I am close to being 'besties' with the owner of Jah'z Lounge. He calls me 'Miss Blog'. I like that name:)

Eat Drink Blog 3 - Part 2 - d'Arenberg, McLaren Vale
On November 3rd and 4th 2012, I had the pleasure of attending the third Australian food blogging conference, Eat Drink Blog, which was held in my hometown of Adelaide. I was one of 80 lucky Australian food bloggers who were selected to attend the fun and food filled conference. Our second adventure on day one was a visit to the picturesque d'Arenberg Vineyard and Winery in McLaren Vale, less than an hour from the Adelaide CBD. Here we undertook the Blending Bench experience, blending our own red wines.

Pauls custard and Five:Am banana yoghurt
Another bargain bin delight story.....Watching a news story on obesity in Australia, Alan and I decided the only thing to do was to undertake some highly scientific custard and yoghurt taste testing. What made this taste testing session even greater was the fact we had found two thirds of the products in a supermarket bargain bin.
